Writer | Content Creator | Comms & Marketing
G'day! I'm Chris, an award-nominated writer based in Adelaide who specialises in producing digital content about video games and technology. My speciality is writing feature articles - going beyond the gameplay, beyond the tech, and into the stories of the people who make the things we enjoy.
I also have a background in communications and marketing, with content marketing and electronic direct mail (EDM) campaign experience.
Outside of my professional life, you'll likely see me at Adelaide Oval, taking in whatever sporting event is happening on any given weekend. I love sport - although my enthusiasm far outweighs any level of skill!
My writing has appeared in various Australian and international publications, including ScreenHub, Byteside, GameSpot, Junkee and more! Check out some of what I've written below, including reviews, features, and sponsored content. My work was recognised with nominations for Best Gaming Journalist and Best New Journalist at the 2020 Australian IT Journalism Awards.
Please contact me to discuss any writing needs you have.
My interest in video production began when I was in primary school, spending an otherwise boring Summer holiday recreating the James Bond classic From Russia With Love - as you do. Using a tape-based camcorder and rounding up fellow neighbourhood kids as actors, I did what I could with countless production issues and a distinct lack of budget.
It was not very good.
These days, after sub-majoring in film and television at university, I enjoy making YouTube videos as an extension of my written game reviews and features. Here, I handle all aspects of video production, from capturing footage, scripting and recording voiceover, and editing it all together into a polished end result.
Let me know if you need someone to do take care of your video needs!
