About

G'day! I'm Chris, an award-nominated writer based in Adelaide who specialises in producing digital content about video games and technology. My speciality is writing feature articles - going beyond the gameplay, beyond the tech, and into the stories of the people who make the things we enjoy.

Outside of writing, I work in communications and marketing. Here, I specialise in content marketing and creating electronic direct mail (EDM) campaigns to drive audience engagement.

Most importantly, my partner Laura and I are the food providers for a shy yet sassy silver tabby named Rosie.

Writing

Here are some of the publications I've written for, including links to a selection of my favourite articles. My work in 2019 led to nominations for 'Best Gaming Journalist' and 'Best New Journalist' for the 2020 Australian IT Journalism Awards.

Please feel free to contact me with any specific article requests.

Videos

My interest in video production began when I was in primary school, spending an otherwise boring Summer holiday recreating the James Bond classic From Russia With Love - as you do. Using a tape-based camcorder and rounding up fellow neighbourhood kids as actors, I did what I could with countless production issues and a distinct lack of budget.

It was not very good.

These days, after sub-majoring in film and television at university, I enjoy making YouTube videos as an extension of my written game reviews and features. Here, I handle all aspects of video production, from capturing footage, scripting and recording voiceover, and editing it all together into a polished end result.

Let me know if you need someone to do take care of your video needs!

Podcasts

I co-host the Mobile Arcade Club, a show focusing on Apple Arcade and mobile gaming. Additionally, I regularly appear on the Vookcast and Player 2 Pixelcast chatting about games.
